About Me

My photo
An Indian , settled in Sweden, Stockholm. Something about this place which jus’ does not allow to change my loyalty and move back or migrate! I am an experimental cook and jus’ love travelling. Greece is definately on my suggestion list if you are someone who would just like to sit my crystal clean, bluish blue water and watch the sunset with harmony of timeless greek music…. My blog shows I am lazy, but I shall definately work on it as one of my goal apart from being perfect in Swedish language!!! If you like my blog or have any suggestions to give! Please feel free to drop in a comment!! Keep blogging, keep expressing!!

Switzerland, the Journey

Switzerland, I sense is every Indian girl’s dream destination to go for after wedding. So was for me, though I had not much information of why it was a desired spot apart from the fact that I had seen it many times in Yash Chopra films…

But to get married with someone you have wanted to for 8 long years and to have your another dream fulfilled was such an unrealistic feeling anyhow….
The first day at Lucrene city……. tired, dull and those heavy bags , me a spoiled brat  a pampered child, dragging bags along and finding our hotel way…gone astray in this new convoluted place  where only 5% of them only could speak broken English, when we found this lady in her 80’s walking down with a heavy bag in her hand..and Gaurav was so not for it that I ask her for direction of our hotel as he thought it would be judicious if she just managed her way to her home ;)
But I just went ahead and asked her…and to my surprise she knew the address and not only was ready to direct us but also walked all the way to drop us till the hotel…that was such a European gesture of courtesy, the walk was 15 min long, yes 15 min is long after a long flight, cold air and topped with dressing of rain drops, and the journey began …..Gaurav was in rush, followed by the 80 year old with her bag and duck walk, and she was followed by me, the slowest candidate just managing to push the bag and then also myself ;)

And this episode was not looking like a Yash chopra movie at all…………
But just when we entered our hotel, I had a sigh of relief, a log flight and this longest walk of my life, I surely wanted to sleep with the swizz air around :)
The second day was an itinerary in our hand, the tight scheduled breakfast in a European hotel only between 7 to 8, so which means get up at 6 be ready if you don’t want to starve….
We headed to this short cruise which dropped us to a place where we could travel to the steepest train

of the world and reach, this was such a beautiful place, Mount PILATUS,
EVERYTHING THERE was so quixotic,

Striking and unseen….
Sitting at a height of 2132m……with tiny drops of rains and a hidden sun still trying to push out some of its rays and light ….and not to forget all this with the love of your life sitting by you :)

Evenings we all strolled the streets, to get the feel of the so beautiful, well-designed, talk about city….
From hunting the cultural monuments to small old streets

all catching up with some authentic swizz chocolates or trying our luck at some casinos…casinos are always a problem with me….never do they let me in without looking my legal id, I mean cant they see the typical Indian bride look I had??? Do I like a kido ? newayz…dats jus for you if you are one of those who still haven’t started looking matured enuf for those bouncers, carry your id…
Morining after being done with almost all possible places in Lucrene, we headed with the train to Interlaken…the Sridevi city :) (chandni)

Fusion Pasta

Just when I discovered new spinach pasta from Barilla, I had to relish it and introduce it to my taste buds. This weekend I shopped one pack & created a fusion dish with this new addition to the pasta family.
Spinach vegetable pasta med Thai red sauce.
Ingredients:
  • Spinach pasta Barilla, WWW.BARILLA.COM
  • Diced mushrooms 7 to 8 of them
  • Diced onion 1
  • Diced green onion ¾
  • 5 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Red capsicum, pepper
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • Cheese slice (2)
  • Olive oil, 1 spoon butter
In a big pan boil pasta with oil, salt, water
In another pan, put 2 spoons of olive oil and all the above mentioned vegetables(except garlic n tomatoes) with salt, pepper and thai red sauce. Mix well until semi done, don’t over cook the vegetables.
When done , keep aside
In another pan, heat butter and garlic cloves, when brown, put the boiled pasta, tomatoes, 1 spoon oil, cheese slice and mix well, put some pepper and salt to taste.
In  a plate put the pasta, and top it with vegetables.
(I use low fat cheese slice instead of shredded fullfat cheese, olive oil instead of peanut oil, use low fat butter)
Enjoy and Eat healthy!!

Kronfågel

A lunch with Kronfågel, it was definitely a huge treat for chicken lovers. The chef was at a start with the best of recipes and the only irony and unique part to this event was, it wasn’t he who was cooking, it was us present at the event.
From mouth watering spaghetti, to mashed potatoes and mushrooms with some scrumptious, grilled, fresh, juicy and lip smacking chicken!! I love chicken because it Kronfågel!!
Thank you!!
